In a bizarre collaboration that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A strange meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons

This update also brings the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns.
